The anime I want to introduce is Darker Than Black: 黒の契約者 - Daka Zan Burakku: Kuro no Keiyakusha.
I saw this new anime which is an anime that one would find interesting though it is a little complicated. But this anime unfolds itself and makes the person watching it understand on their own through various stories and events revolving around the main characters:
Li Sheng Shun [codename: Hei, Messier code: BK201]
Kiyoshi [codename: Huang]
A talking cat - not exactly, you'll find out that he's a Contractor too [codename: Mao]
A doll - passive mediums which looks like a human and possess the ability to send out surveillance spheres via mediums to track down their targets - who has memories of a girl called Krisi [codename: Yin]
Misaki Kirihara - a female cop [Head of Foreign Affairs Sector 4 in Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department]
Leader of Evening Primrose, Amber [a.k.a February when she was in MI-6(Secret Intelligence Service/Unit].
The story revolves around the lead character with each event's happening brings a better understanding to the mysterious history of the masked man and his powers. The story starts out as police are in pursuit of a contractor related to the first mission of BK201 - Hei. The Contractor managed to get away when he was cornered by his powers. Before the police finally got to the place he escaped to he was already killed by BK201. That is when it aroused the interest of the police sector head, Misaki Kirihara. The mystery enveloping the actions of Black Death God/Reaper[Kuro Shinigami(BK201)] and the Syndicate he serves. The story gets fairly more complicated as it proceeds to its end. Eventually, the actions of several betrayals led to a war between Contractors and Humans.
What's a Contractor?
Contractors are individuals who have gained superhuman powers due to the appearance of the Hell's Gate and Heaven's Gate. Contractors are considered as beings who make rational and pragmatic decisions regardless of the situation and never make emotion-powered decisions. Contractors are generally rated as emotionless because of their unusual thought processes and memory replays. An average Contractor cares only about their well-beings and reduces everything to a cost and benefit analysis.
